Amazing location and even more amazing seafood and pasta. Staff were so friendly and we were blown away by how fresh the seafood was! We sat right on the water, no reservation and no wait as we got there a little earlier than 7 pm. Highly recommend porta Marina!

One of my favorite spots when visiting Sorrento. I've never had to wait for table, yet it's always busy! Good timing? They just run a smooth operation. I'm a seafood lover, but throw in a sunset and seaside serenade, and I'm in heaven. Food is reasonable, ample, and delicious. I love the pulpo (grilled octopus) and mussels. I always enjoy coming here; even the walk down to the port from town above is a journey in itself. (Avoid heels, ladies!) Love the vibe and ambience. A hidden gem. Staff is great too.

This place was great! We walked up and we were instantly greeted by the owner with two glasses of wine while we waited (about 10 a minute wait). The ambiance was absolutely amazing! A great view, a man playing live music and everyone was just happy to be there. The menu had a nice variety and the food came out super quick. Our server was was amazing and so sweet! This made our last night in Italy absolutely amazing!

My absolute favorite meal in Positano! You have to have the lemon delight there! It's the best we had and we tried it at 4 or 5 different places. After we had it there we were disappointed everywhere else! The mussels were so fresh that they tasted sweet. Absolutely divine food and atmosphere!

During our time in Sorrento we only had one night we didn't have dinner reservations. After a quick search on google, looking for something besides pasta, we came across Porta Marina. It is a decent walk down to the docks- we opted to walk down the winding walkways. Not sure if you can take the elevator down which is more in the center part of town and then walk over. But the walk was worth it for the view alone. We lucked out and were seated right away (though by the time we left there was a line), right at the edge of the water. It was a bit of a windy night so we had to be creative to use items to hold the table cloth down, but the weather calmed down as dinner went on. We started with the clams and mussels which were cooked perfectly, and tasted so fresh and delicious. There was also plenty of bread brought to the table which was perfect for soaking up the broth from the shellfish. For the main course I had the fried catch of the day which was Sea Bream- it's a mild white fish and was nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. My husband had the seafood risotto- which was a bit of a repeat of our appetizer, since it also contained mussels and clams, but it also had fish, shell on shrimp and calamari. We finished by sharing a lemon dessert which was layers of cake with a lemon frosting/pudding on top. This was a great meal in Sorrento, with fresh seafood, fast service and a beautiful view.

The best dinner we have had so far in Italy! This restaurant run by a family fisherman was recommended by our local guide, and it did not disappoint. The seafood dishes are especially fresh and delicious. The mixed seafood appetizer, tomato salad, seafood spaghetti, mixed seafood grill, and fried anchovies were all good to excellent. It was a little far from our rental apartment, but definitely worth the walk. Forgot to mention that the prices are very reasonable. Our total bill came to $108 for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 3 main courses, and a side salad.

Porta Marina is a wonderful little seaside cafe in Sorrento Italy While staying in Sorrento, I wanted to try a restaurant close to the water, and Porta Marina seemed very popular. We walked near the front of the establishment and were immediately greeted by the staff. She quickly found us a table, brought us drinks and took out orders. I chose the linguine with lobster and was pleasantly surprised. I imagined that the dish would be linguine with some bits and pieces of lobster. It was actually a whole lobster. Fantastic! The food was excellent and the staff was warm and friendly. Porta Marina is a great choice if you decide to dine near the harbor.
